Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can this type of work—Hypnotherapy or Yoga or Healing Circles-- help me?

Holistic Health Counselors and support groups, classes and workshops such as we offer at La Alza Health and Wellness can provide the tools and assistance you are seeking to help you grow past those challenges that are holding you back from real joy and growth in your life. We all are faced with various pressures in our lives.  Struggle, however, is optional.

At La Alza, we address issues from a Holistic place, that of the interconnectedness of Mind, Body and Spirit.

You can begin to unravel those challenging personal circumstances—those persistent issues and reflexive, ingrained responses --that impact your happiness and growth.

  • How do I know if this type of work is right for me?

People join our Programs for a variety of reasons. Many are seeking growth. Others are seeking support and a new set of tools to deal with depression, traumatic responses, divorce, life transitions or creative blocks.  Others may be at a point where they want to become more actuated and in alignment with the goals they are setting.

  • Do I really need to do this type of work?

As Einstein noted, "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them".

Joining Programs and trainings such as those we offer at La Alza Health and Wellness is for people who are ready to take responsibility for their growth and do the necessary work to break through the barriers which are currently holding them back.

Once we have enough self-awareness to realize we cannot do everything--especially make major changes-- alone, we realize that we must establish a new way of thinking in order to become the person we want to be.  We need tools and we need loving, non-judgmental support.

You'll find this loving, non-judgmental type of support at La Alza Health and Wellness.  We'll provide the tools to help you uproot and change outdated beliefs and behaviors and we'll support you on your journey to obtaining a new level of healing, wholeness, and well-being in your life.

  • Is this therapy?

In some respects, yes, in other ways, no.

Therapy can be short-term for a specific issue, or longer-term to deal with more challenging patterns that are showing up in your life.  And likewise, people seeking therapy are ready to make positive changes in their lives, are open to new perspectives, and are ready and willing to take responsibility for their lives.

And it is common to schedule regular sessions with your therapist.

The work we’ll be doing together is therapeutic, yet not ‘therapy’ in a traditional sense.  We aren't going to prescribe medication or talk through each and every little issue to 'try' to 'fix' you. You'll be doing your personal work and we'll be there to help you through the learning curves, to help you to learn to use your new tools, and to support you on your healing journey.  We'll help you to heal at the root or the core of the issues you are consciously or subconsciously dealing with.  This work is about making lasting, beneficial, positive and loving changes in your life.

  • Will you bill my insurance?

La Alza Health and Wellness does not accept nor bill insurance.

  • Why won't you take insurance?

Many practitioners choose not to participate with insurance panels for a variety of reasons.

Not only are insurance companies often very restrictive regards the services they will cover, they also require providers to supply a diagnosis code.  A diagnosis code is a classification of sorts.  Many clients are apprehensive about having a record of a diagnosis on file with an insurance company.
