How it was Developed
iRest was developed by Dr. Richard Miller, a spiritual teacher, yogic scholar, researcher and clinical psychologist, who combined traditional yogic practice with Western psychology and neuroscience. He's been developing the iRest practice over the course of 30 years.
iRest is practiced by thousands of people worldwide in a wide range of settings--from schools, community centers and yoga studios to correctional facilities and military hospitals.
How it Heals
The practice of iRest enables you to deeply calm your nervous system, integrate difficult thoughts and emotions, and offers a portal for awakening to your essential nature.
Based on current studies with iRest in the
military, the Defense Centers of Excellence has approved iRest as a Complementary and Alternative Medicine warranting continuing research for its use in the treatment of PTSD.
In addition, the U.S. Army Surgeon General has listed Yoga Nidra (based on research with iRest) as a Tier 1 approach for addressing Pain Management in Military Care.

Classes and Workshops are held in several locations in the Tampa Bay area from November through May each year. Ongoing, open-to-everyone classes are generally held twice each week.
We are also available for One on One Trainings, Corporate Informational Workshops, and specialized small group classes such as trauma-specific, grief, addictions and pain management, from October through April each year in the Tampa Bay and Sarasota areas.
